From clip-ons to clear quartz, my love for jewelry has grown just as I have. Something that may seem simple to some, has always made a world of difference to me. Adorning myself has always given me a boost of confidence that simply cannot be ignored. “Adorning the temple” says it all, and says it well.
I did the typical friendship bracelets and helping my grandma pick out beads as a kid. For a time my grandma lived with us and she always had me help her put her jewelry on whenever we were to leave the house. I loved seeing all the different pieces she had and what she chose each time. That goes for my mom as well. I was always so eager to try on her jewelry and “borrow” what I liked best (hehe thank you mom…) They have without a doubt been a huge inspiration in my passion for creating and diving into different art mediums and hobbies. My grandmother dabbled in so many that I had the joy of watching growing up and I am beyond grateful to her for all that she showed and taught me, both knowingly and unknowingly. And a huge shoutout to my mom for always supporting me and providing me with so many materials and opportunity to try these things out when I was younger.
I really started diving into making art and jewelry after high school and took a metal-smithing and jewelry making class in college. It was that same semester when the pandemic hit and we had to continue class completely online. Because of this, it became a lot more wire work and getting creative in different ways that really led me to make things I saw others wearing or being interested in. I know that not all of the things I make are for me and I would have to say that’s my favorite part about it. I want the pieces I make to find whomever they’re made for, because I know that they’re out there! So, if anything calls to you, it may be because it’s made just for you!
I love one-of-a-kind art and that is what I strive to do most because I love when people feel special. I love letting the art speak for itself. I love to dabble in art forms such as wire work, soldering, acrylic and oil painting, watercolor, tie dye, working with resin, and more than anything I love using natural elements such as stones, crystals, shells, rocks, flowers and really anything I find outdoors! I also hope to get into recycling objects through art. I know my art mediums will be ever-evolving and I am so excited to share that evolution with as many people as I can.
And just like myself and my art, this bio may evolve as endlessly as I do.
